meanwhile the police fill the block with tear gas. who’s protecting and serving here

This is really important

imma be reblogging this every time I see it

Remember this the next time someone tells you about how oppressive government is the only way to stop human societies from degrading into anomic hellscapes. Oppression creates violence by turning people against each other, it doesn’t rein it in.

If you doubt this, ask yourself where the impulse to loot stores even comes from.

Gaza heart and good home training.

We are experiencing black genocide almost EVERYDAY in amerikkka, and are LUCKY if any one of those murdered innocent lives receives justice or is even acknowledged by the news and the public. It’s wild though, how people in gaza are going through their own war, drenched in blood, surrounded by rubble and lifeless bodies, and STILL have the energy and compassion to offer us black folk solidarity, love, and acknowledgement. They feel our suffering while they are suffering. They are being murdered and still have decency too. Gaza definitely “gets it”. We see y’all. Thank you.

I am FUCKING TERRIFIED

During the Ferguson Press conference, Police Chief said that Mike Brown committed robbery (while other reports from the officers said it was his friend….yea confusing)

jackviolet:

The cop who shot a dog in front of its 6 year old owner was fired after outrage from the community and a “Justice for Apollo” campaign.

The cop who shot an unarmed black teen is on paid leave and remains protected by his department. So far, days of outrage and protest have still not brought any justice to Mike Brown.

In America, in 2014, the life of a black man is valued less than that of a dog.

Literally.

Hey look, the police have changed their story again. You can read more about it here: http://news.msn.com/us/police-teen-shot-by-cop-suspect-in-recent-robbery
Basics:
Ferguson Police have released the shooter’s name, according to them, it’s Darren Wilson, will check more sources to confirm.
They claim a convenience store was held up and the perp got away with a $49.99 box of cigars.
There’s a photo in the article, it’s really grainy, you can tell the person who grabbed the front of another person’s shirt is a tall black man kind of built like a football player. I looked up pictures of Michael, there’s no comparison, even accounting for the grainy nature of the security camera. Like I don’t know what it is, but the guy in the photo definitely isn’t Michael.
They claim that Officer Wilson was closest and went to investigate, they also claim another officer showed up three minutes later. I don’t recall that being in the other accounts.
There was, naturally, outcry and disbelief at this statement.
Michael Brown’s uncle is quoted in the article pointing out that the officer would have had his lights on if he was stopping them for suspected robbery, which I don’t recall other accounts saying, he is also quoted saying that even if they were suspected of robbery, the officer wouldn’t have said “get on the ground” nor would he have been justified in shooting someone with their hands up.
Police still claim that Michael and his friend initiated the violence against the officer.
